Holding

Master Chang often talks about the concept of 'holding'.

I was in Chicago over the Easter holidays. In one of the daybreak ki classes, Master Chang shared the following poem:

Blowing wind makes bamboo forest
shaky and noisy.
But after the wind dies out,
the bamboo forest remains still,
without holding the wind.

A flying goose over the lake makes its own shadow
on the water,
But after the goose flies away,
the lake does not hold the shadow.
