Where is your mind?

"Where your mind goes your ki will follow."

A student can often get dragged out of his own experience when catching sight of his reflection in a mirror.

Often students’ kicks improve remarkably as soon as I hold up a target. Having a target in sight naturally enables the student to focus better on where exactly they are kicking.

So what about when we repeat kicks with no target? Or when we practice forms? Where does our mind go?

By focusing on what we are doing now – and visualizing an actual opponent, we can not only perform better but also increase our energy.

Try to visualize an opponent, see what happens – surely performing techniques with intention is one of the many things that set us apart from an aerobics class?
